A High court in Benin city, capital of Edo state has sentenced one Mr. Bright Asiruwa to life imprisonment for raping one of his student, an 11 year old pupil in 2007.
According to the prosecution council, Nelson Okojie, Asiruwa defiled the pupil at Osazuwa Primary School, Ehor, the administrative headquarters of Uhunmwode local government area of the state.
Sentencing the convict, Justice G. O. Imadegbelo, pronounced the teacher guilty of rape and thus sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Engineer Zini Braima, elder brother of the victim applauded the judgement, saying that all the family wanted was justice.
“As a matter of fact, I’m happy and I give glory to God that justice is done today by the Court, because from the beginning of that case, we have been praying the right justice
